Today’s Music…

* Your Name High - Hillsong, This Is Our God
* You Lifted Me Out - Chris Tomlin, Hello Love
* To Know Your Name - Hillsong, Savior King
* He Loves Us - Kim Walker, We Cry Out

Our service began with Mike Bell talking about the importance of true worship and extending an invitation for everyone to participate. He read a passage of scripture from John 4:23-24 and then lead us in prayer. Following the prayer our band began playing Your Name High with an extended intro. Our lights change with the music and the choir begins to sing. I must say that today’s lighting was the best yet. Clay did an awesome job! Our choir sounded great as well! We closed out our worship set with Lauren Wilson singing He Loves Us. The song starts out with only black and white light and video. About half way through the song when Lauren hits the first big chorus, everything changes. Color is added to both the video screens and lighting. It was an amazing example of how video and lighting can support and even lead in worship on any given Sunday.

Highlights from Associate Pastor, Maurice Henson’s message:
Main passage of scripture: Ephesians 5:8, 17-31

  • 1 out of 2 marriages will end in divorce.
  • 3 things that marriages most have in order to last…
  • A PERSONAL COMMITMENT TO CHRIST IS FOUNDATIONAL
  • A COMMITMENT TO EXPRESS LOVE
  • There must be mutual submission
  • A commitment to express your love
  • Find creative ways to express your love
  • A COMMITMENT TO PRAY TOGETHER

Today’s Music…

* How to Save a Life - The Fray, How To Save A Life
* Solution - Hillsong United, All Of The Above
* One Way - Hillsong United, The I Heart Revolution:With Hearts As One
* Jesus Messiah - Chris Tomlin, Hello Love

Today’s service was great! One of our focus points was about our In The House Series which starts September 21. Being a Host Home for this small group study requires faith. There are a lot of church people who don’t associate themselves with people who are outside of the church. We are encouraging people to invite their friends and family who are not in church. That is a big challenge! If you attend The Lift and have not yet registered to be a Host Home, will you except the challenge? You never know how God will use your willingness to have an impact on someone else.

We want to say thank you to all of our volunteers. You are doing a wonderful job! We especially want to thank those of you who have been helping with setup and breakdown. Keep it up people…it is because of our great volunteers that The Lift is so successful every week. If you missed today’s service, you can watch it here.

See you Sunday…9:30 or 11:00!
